The location of the fault on the Neskaupstaður Line 1 has now been identified. It has proven difficult to access the site because of the heavy snow in the area.
This is stated in a post from Landsnet on Facebook.
The post also notes that there was a risk of lightning yesterday, forcing crews to withdraw from the area.
Repair work on the line began after noon today, according to the update.
