Why no Scandinavian countries in the list of “Braliukai”?

  1. Sweden (🇸🇪) should definitely be on the list. What do you think?

    * Sweden is historically the largest investor with 20% – 30% of all FDI in Lithuania. ([source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Lithuania#cite_note-37))
    * Approx. 200 registered active companies with major Swedish ownership present in Lithuania […] Swedish companies employ approx. 22 000 employees in Lithuania. ([source](https://www.swedenabroad.se/globalassets/ambassader/litauen-vilnius/documents/swedish-business-presence-in-lithuania-and-future-market-opportunities-report.pdf))
    * Of all Baltic countries the Swedes see the best prospects in Lithuania. ([source](https://investlithuania.com/news/of-all-baltic-countries-the-swedes-see-the-best-prospects-in-lithuania/))

  2. It’s more like brothers of the same faith- sufferers of soviet occupation.

It doesn’t mean that Lithuanian’s have anything against Scandic countries- we get along just fine

  3. Belarus braliukai? The only reason they are safe today, потому-что по 4 стратегическим позициям был нанесён превентивный удар, я вам сейчас на карте покажу, я с собой принёс!

  4. It’s about mutual feeling. I don’t think any of Scandinavians look at us as brothers in the first place. Sure, we will get closer within time but we need a long time to build close relationships, or something has to happen in political arena, let’s say, Baltic countries could be very active in Sweden and Finland question joining NATO since Turkey has vetoed. Then they would be thankful and that could get us closer.
Because as you can see our “braliukai” is just countries that we relate the most politically and historically.

  5. Different mentality. Especially in smaller towns or cities. Even for very social Lithuanians it gets uneasy to adapt and get friends with locals while living in Scandinavia. And sometimes it is just because of different understanding or expectations. You can play football with Swedish guys, but you go home after instead of having a couple of beer in a pub (except special occasions). And same with them – they don’t like (or don’t show that they like) if you take initiative and organize event without involving others a lot. And also we look to each other with some suspicion – in most cases we go there for better life and they are cautious about our intentions (stealing workplaces, organized crime activities and so on).

  6. as a lithuanian living in norway we got nothing in common with them, thats why. more in common with effing ukraine than norway
