WWE is reportedly planning to bring its first-ever Premium Live Event to Italy on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.

According to WWE insider WrestleVotes, the event name hasn’t been finalized, but Backlash is currently being used as an internal placeholder. The show would serve as WWE’s first PLE following WrestleMania 42.

The Inalpi Arena, Italy’s largest indoor venue with a capacity of up to 15,666, has hosted WWE live events in the past but never a major televised show. The venue was built for the 2006 Winter Olympics and has since hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and the ATP Finals.

WWE International

If branded as Backlash, the Italy event would continue the PLE’s transformation into WWE’s flagship international traveling show. The event was held in Puerto Rico in 2023, where it became the highest-grossing Backlash in company history, before moving to Lyon, France in 2024 for another record-setting gate.

Italy joins an expanding list of European countries hosting WWE PLEs, alongside:

The United Kingdom (Clash at the Castle in Cardiff and Glasgow)

France (Backlash 2024, Clash in Paris 2025)

Germany (Bash in Berlin)

WWE President Nick Khan first hinted at an Italian PLE during remarks at the IMG x RedBird business summit in September, noting that a deal was close. The company last visited Italy in early 2025 for a SmackDown taping in Bologna during the Road to WrestleMania 41.
