Seven German journalism students tracked Russian-crewed freighters lurking off the Dutch and German coast—and connected them to drone swarms over military bases.
I applaud this article. Have seen many different media reporting this news as proven Russian mothership. This article isn’t running ahead and just gives the facts.
Very interesting read. If these are the same drones that were spotted in Belgium (which seems highly likely) it would explain some things. The drone shown is a VTOL fixed wing, it can hover like a quadcopter but can also fly using its wings and a rearward facing propeller. This allows it to cover long distances at height efficiently but also hover for more stable camerawork. Using the wings instead of propellers to stay airborne reduces the battery usage a lot. It would explain why it was so hard to catch them since they could all fly off in different directions at different altitudes and their operators are 100 km away. With a regular quadcopter the operators would need to be way closer. They’re also capable of flying on programmed routes without operator input so jamming them wouldn’t work.
Next time drones are reported, I’m gonna be checking those marine trackers to look for any suspiscious ships nearby.
those students have balls having name and faces published.
Don’t we have some nice little torpedos that accidentely float in this sea…..we have nothing to do with it, maybe the Kremlin believes its us but, no, surely not. Those drones and boats are also surely not theirs.
Cops couldn’t do it despite having a specialized anti-drone squad, the military was clueless and the government scared shitless… 7 students, somehow, managed to track the drones.
Oh brother…
German ey, how coincidental. All related to gertrut ?
Seven German journalism students achieve something the regular army can’t bring together.
Or is Uncle Theo (Belgian’s Minister of *War*, a Trump fan) not telling us something.
200km range puts it out of range of like 90% of the targets claimed to have seen drone activity
