Interested! please provide more details when available.
Will the event be held at the amazon kirchberg offices?
Interested.
Since there is some bullshit being said in the comments, as a Brazilian I feel that should put out some points:
Indigenous lands in Brasil is a matter of political discussion for ages. There is a literal war happening between indigenous people and the “coroneis”, the powerful people that “own” lands (by means of taking possession) and businesses tightly bound to deforestation (mining, agriculture, livestock raising and wood “production”).
It is usual to have indigenous people go to other countries to raise awareness about those matters since inside the country no one seems to care that much. That seems to be the case.
There are isolated tribes in the Amazon forest, yes. But it doesn’t mean that every indigenous person in Brasil lives isolated in pure communion with nature. They go to schools, and universities and they may have jobs outside of the community. So it’s not a “human zoo”, it’s not someone that has never seen “civilization” before. It’s a human being traveling to another country (be it for whatever reason… to raise awareness, to study, or to visit a new place).
But also, the title does not bring much information and may sound a little weird.
Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. It’s not about a human zoo in any way, that would be more than humiliating. The Yanomami leader will come to Luxembourg to share his thoughts about deforestation and the illegal goldmining that is taking place and killing hundreds of Yanomami people right now. It’s about sharing life experiences, about showing that other ways of living are possible and not less valuable than our way of living. Thank you all for your interest. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I get more infos from the organizers
That bird just chilling, this is so wholesome
Please yes!!
Raoni Metuktire has visited Europe in the past possibly also Luxembourg but he is Kayapo.
Let’s just write “the details” right here, right now in the open:

Sounds like an interesting cultural event to visit
I confirm the informations above. The event will take place the 24th of May at 18:30.

Hope to meet you guys there 🙂
I would love to attend but I think language will be a major factor for me. Would this be in English or French? Anyone knows?
I would come if it’s in English. Thanks
Wtf for? Nothing will change! Total waste of time. Bettel and co don’t give 2 cents about deforestation
