I remember when I was younger legging it to the chemist when I got my pocket money and buying these bad boys and just eating them like it’s nothing, realisation years later that they were to be diluted in water and medically I wasn’t a diabetic

  1. They tasted like the swizzle stick in Double Dip sherbet. Loved them.

  2. My diabetic Da kept these in the car. I tried them once or twice but I remembering thinking they were rank. They were meant to be sucked and dissolved in the mouth; not diluted with water.

  3. Can confirm as a type 1 diabetic , we’re not diluting them either if they are meant to be 😂 Popping 4/5 in a row when in low blood sugar 😅

  4. Hahahaha absolutely same.. Never knew until about 2yrs ago they were supposed to be diluted

  5. I remember getting these for my diabetic friend in work, I kept them in all of the first aid kits!

  6. Still can get some in Germany, my old office still has them in little white packs 🤤

  7. You can get similar ones in pharmacy and on Amazon look up energy tablets there are ones that taste like red bull there the best

  8. Boots have Dextro energy, same thing, similar taste. I take them for sugar at tattoo time

  9. I buy a similar product from Boots for a boost of energy before sports. From memory they sell two packs for sub €3, so cheap.

  10. Used to get them in boots Liffey valley before going the cinema. I’ve had may fillings in my life

  11. My teacher in primary school was diabetic. He used to keep these in his desk, in case of a blood sugar emergency. One day, a kid stole them and passed them out at lunch. About a week later, the teacher realised they were gone, and absolutely lost it. Screaming about how he could have died. We were like 8 and in absolute shock. The thief pissed his pants.

  12. We used to be given these at half time at football and hurling matches.

  13. I win my 5th year 500 meter sports day race on a packet of these.

  14. My da brought me and a friend of mine to some music festival when we were 12 (should NOT have been there) and his diabetic friend gave us 2 packs of these to eat. May as well have given us an edible, we were bouncing off the walls lmao.

  15. They dissolved pretty just sitting in your tongue.

  16. I used to use loads of sugar to get me through studying and exams, went through many packs during the leaving cert

  17. Used to love these. Only thing that made a trip to the chemist worthwhile was a kid.

  18. And you’d eat aload of them together and your mouth would be like the fucking Sahara.
