A weir on the Wear
A perfect little city, Durham. Lots of history, and quite a bit of it still visible. Kind of like York, but smaller.
We’re an often maligned part of the country on account of our poverty, and IDK, some snobbery over our accents or something from RP speakers I guess (southern students at Durham uni who think they’re a superior class of people to the locals are the fucking worst), but there’s beauty and history here just like anywhere else in the UK.
Are there any rough areas within the county? I worked with a lad who claimed to come from quite a tough area, I’ve never been up that way in my life and my current perception of Durham is based entirely on it’s picturesque city and nice university status.
