  4. Trump surrendering land to Putin that Putin couldn’t even take by force is weaker than Chamberlain. Trump is so weak in front of Putin. The weakest anyone has ever seen. The greatest weakness like no one has seen before.

  14. I feel sorry for Chamberlain, these constant comparisons to Trump are bullshit.

    Musk and these similar pro-Russian figures are much more like Vidkun Quisling, the man who openly sided ideologically with Germany when they took over his country and he happily ran a puppet collaborationist government for them.

    Trump’s administration has done everything they can so far to actively behave as apologists for Russia’s genocidal aggression, even going as far as to mindlessly parrot Kremlin propaganda. They’re constantly kissing ass and trying to cut some kind of “deal” with Russia too, screwing their own allies completely as long as they get a few $$$ out of it. Morality? Who cares?

    They’re even starting to mirror Russia’s actual political ideology too, especially the fascination with establishing some kind of oligarchy.

    On the other hand Chamberlain’s appeasement policy was terrible in hindsight, but he never actually *sided* with Hitler ideologically. If he were like the US right now, he would have actively been giving support to Germany. In reality he was a staunch opponent of Germany who was just misguided in thinking appeasement would help stop a massive war.

    Bear in mind:

    1 – A WW2 level scenario of a dictator being appeased and then attacking everyone hadn’t happened before.

    2 – Germany had built itself up into a massive military industrial powerhouse with a huge, highly-professional army with cutting-edge doctrine. Literally the power Russia dreams of having militarily is what Germany actually had.

    3 – He incorrectly thought he could buy time for the Allies by appeasement rather than allow a crushing war to happen immediately.

    So yeah, the current situation makes Chamberlain look like a naive well-minded individual compared to the actively malicious way the US has been sliding recently.
