  1. What’re the requirements for something to be deemed a national emergency?

  2. Why does the media absolutely love to talk about violence against women but pretty much never mentions it happens to men too? Oh yeah it’s the media

  3. Ummm I have a really good idea who’s doing these crimes 🙂

  4. Bet there’s a few of the protect rrr women cunts being investigated.

  5. Man, even the shadows are getting violent now. What a time to be alive.

  6. This doesn’t seem to be very well received. Is protecting our women and girls out of fashion now?

  7. People saying men are more likely to be victims of violence are not wrong but it depends on the type of violence

Men are massively more likely to be killed, 72% are men, but women are more likely to be victims of stalking, domestic abuse and sexual assault

Violence against men predominantly takes place in “nightlife” settings involving drink and drugs and in crime related activities

Violence against women predominantly takes place in “safe” environments such as the home

Yes, in raw numbers with no context, men are more likely to be victims of violence

However, conditions are not equal. Men engage in risky activity including criminal activity far more than women and they suffer the consequences, it’s not all the violence against men but it’s the majority

Women suffer horrible violence far more than men when they should be safe, that’s the bottom line

EDIT: if you want sources, go and read the government statistics. If you don’t trust the government statistics, I don’t know what to tell you

  8. This is great, however do we have the capacity in our judicial system to deal with any arrests made?

  9. I mean it’s got to a point non of my girlfriends are bothering with men anymore they’ve either just sworn off them or started dating other women finally so maybe a bit late but fingers crossed it’s helps with the issues for the next generation because I have a feeling it’s just gonna get worse lol

  10. Lies. They constantly call non violent things violent.

The subheadline is “Specialist investigation teams for rape and sexual offences are to be created across England and Wales as the home secretary declares violence against women and girls a “national emergency”.” but the legal definitions “rape” and “sexual assault” don’t include violence, they are based on absence of an agreement instead. An actual violent incident would likely be charged as assault/battery/abh etc in addition and I very rarely see this occur.

There are genuine issues of course, but the government constantly lie and exaggerate the situation, as do the media.

  11. Why not just do it now instead of “by 2029”?

What exactly is the problem with catching rapists? “Facial recognition” doesn’t do anything to stop violence against women and girls.

“Emergency” means do something now. Right this second.

Seriously. What’s wrong with these people, it’s like they are lacking in brain cells.

  12. A friend of mine is being harassed by her ex partner. Police won’t do anything so she has now posted video footage and recordings online while saying if anything happens to her or her daughter this is likely why it happened.

Her ex keeps telling her to kill herself and getting other people to message her hateful messages. He’s turning up at her house banging on the door for hours while repeatedly calling her phone. He’s saying absolutely vile things to her and mocking her past of being raped.

This man has a child himself and the house he is terrorising has a young child living there. It is clear the police need to step up and do more.

Like I totally understand why people are not rubbed the right way by learning that we’re going to get two tier policies where men are not prioritised but this is also a completely legitimate need. 14 years of Right Wing ideology broke our police and court system so no one gets justice. It would cost a huge amount to undo the damage and bring equal policy so they’re prioritising parts in stages it seems.
