  1. Anyone who says Russia is a superpower is not a serious person

  2. I did not expect to see such a epic video!

More like car camera from 5-6km in distance and something coming towards ground

  3. Whoa. The break matches that drone hit where a plane was ready to take off. Is it possible that it actually took flight?

  4. In summary, the back fell off.

And how the hell does that happen to a plane designed to be robust enough to take off and land on unpaved, short airstrips while carrying four BMD-1s? My understanding from what I’ve read about this crash is that the plane had just finished an extensive maintenance cycle, and this was its test flight. Did the pilot try to loop the plane in order to prove it was ready to return to service?

  5. This appears like a massive structural failure, likely due to an “beyond end of lifetime” airframe.

The plane was supposedly on a post-maintenance test flight, but as production of the [An-22](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-22) ceased in 1976, maintenance and upkeep of this plane type seems to be an increasing challenge.

Some sources also suggest the remaining 2 operational planes remaining with the orcish air force have been pulled from active service mid-December to spare the kremlin gremlin additional public embarassement…

  6. I’m no engineer or professional on airplanes, but I don’t think airplanes are supposed to do that.

  7. r/TheFrontFellOff

Obviously not as safe as those where the front doesn’t fall off. It’s still in the environment though.

  8. So wait, it still took off after being hit in the fusealage by a Ukrainian FPV drone whilst taxi-ing? How were they not aware?

  9. This is crazy, how is that even physically possible to loose the entire tail just like that? I’d never board any civil russian maintained plane at this point if they already fail maintenance on their military grade assets so badly.

  10. Absolutely awesome way for a plane genre to go extinct.
    Slava Ukraini!!🇺🇦

  11. Plane older than the entire crew combined, never seen thorough maintenance, this is what you get. Thanks to the strain sanctions and Russia’s war effort puts on these transport aircrafts, we’ll see more of that for sure.

  12. The pilot panicked when he realised he had to pilot not just 1 but 2 planes at very short notice.

  13. Ahhhh I see the problem. The tail fell off. It’s not supposed to do that.

  14. That is what happens when you switch to using the cheap generic brand duct tape to keep the front and back of your planes attached.

  15. This is how they disembark, spectacular for sure.

  16. Don’t rejoice too quickly, a bit of duct tape and it will be like new.

  17. How many folks onboard for a test flight? I think there jobs are vacant now

  18. It’s such a shame (not for any military reasons, fuck Russia and this crash is a net positive for Ukraine but also countless African states) that it had to end like this. I’ve always loved the design of the AN-22, such an interesting design and concept. There’s just something about old Soviet designs that I get really interested in.

  19. That’s not ideal. Oh wait, actually it is ideal. Ha ha!

  20. Notice no fireball…. the separation is guess took all the fuel out also. It was bone dry when it hit the ground.

  21. Man, the guy who put up those security cameras years ago thinking that it’s solved his problems… Not knowing this was gonna happen, obvs, but must have looked through and thought, what the fuck…

  22. the best landing from december 2025 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  23. For the ones interested in seeing one on the inside, there is one in a museum in Germany Speyer.

  24. Nice plane, but why are front and rear landing separated from each other? Economical reasons? Less landing fee?

  25. Three “items” come out of or may be ejected from the broken fuselage. Perhaps near an entry door? The left-most may show a deploying parachute 🪂?
Maybe one or more of the crew had a few seconds of recognition before the catastrophic event and managed to get out (but did not survive)??
    Thoughts?
