I know the ten days war and after said war Slovenia pulled out of the Yugoslav wars, but did it effect Slovenia in any way?

  3. a lot of politics is still based on who was on “the right side”…
    and it also effected that slovene people see military spending as not important, especially compared to croatia, that suffered a lot more in yugoslav war, but has an actual military

  5. Yes, economically it had major rammifications as it disrupted trade and economic ties with other Yugoslav republics as well as the loss of the common Yugoslav market. There were also refugees from Croatia/Bosnia arriving to the country. It took a few years for everything to stabilize.

  8. As you can see from the picture, all the duty free shops were blocked by occupying army, so there was no cheap booze and cigarettes available for 10 days. A total disaster.

    I would fail my exam for the first time at the Uni if the professor wouldn’t simply return it, for me to retake it fresh in the fall.

    That was also my last exam before graduating.

  13. Well to be honest, we were pretty lucky regarding the war, in comparison to other countries.

  14. Yeah, war gave them an opportunity to steal like 2 billion € from Ljubljanska banka saving accounts of other ex yugoslavs (mostly croats). Great success!

  15. We got lots of refugees. Janša got to sell weapons to Croatia.
