AnySignal, a Los Angeles-based company developing a vertically integrated platform for wireless connectivity, sensing, and national security infrastructure, has raised $24 million in Series A funding to scale production of its space communications platform, broaden its national security product line, and build a new Los Angeles area facility that brings the full development lifecycle together from algorithm design through high rate manufacturing.
The company said the round was led by Upfront Ventures and included participation from Also Capital, BlueYard Capital, Balerion Space Ventures, First In Ventures, and other strategic investors. AnySignal plans to use the financing to increase manufacturing capacity across its portfolio of software and hardware systems, including flight radios already in orbit and next-generation solutions intended for ground and airborne applications.
AnySignal is positioning its technology as an alternative to what it describes as legacy, single-purpose radios that can struggle in contested or congested spectrum environments. The company argues that as more satellites, drones, and other systems come online, communications performance becomes increasingly dependent on adaptable architectures that can respond to interference and evolving threats without requiring full hardware replacement.
The company said its platform treats spectrum as a software-defined resource by designing the full radio stack, spanning algorithms, hardware, and cloud services. AnySignal contends that this approach can shorten the deployment cycle for new capabilities from years to weeks and improve resilience by allowing systems to adapt through software updates. The company’s offering includes advanced radio-frequency sensing and communications products tied to four core mission areas: space communications, autonomous systems, electronic warfare, and radar systems.
AnySignal also highlighted its operational traction, saying it is already supporting multiple on-orbit missions. Over the next year, the company said 12 additional spacecraft are scheduled to launch using AnySignal radios and network services across low Earth orbit, geostationary orbit, and lunar missions. The planned Los Angeles facility is intended to support that cadence by consolidating engineering and production under one roof while increasing throughput for both space and national security customers.
KEY QUOTES:
“Failing radios and operational communications breakdowns are less about physics and more about inflexible designs and rigid processes,” said John Malsbury, AnySignal co-founder and CEO. “As more satellites, missiles and drones come online, the weaknesses of existing infrastructure become clear. Without modernization, missions and lives are put at risk and we won’t meet the growing demands of the space economy and defense readiness.”

“The commercial world has seen huge advances in communications infrastructure, while defense and space have lagged behind,” said Ricardo Medina, AnySignal co-founder. “We’re modernizing the core building blocks so mission-critical users can finally outpace the threat.”
