Let me, an expert in pedantry, educate you all: the shape of the swiss *flag* is a 1:1 square alright, but the shapes of the *civil* and *state ensigns* of Switzerland are both 2:3 rectangles.
The president of the Confederation is clearly celebrating the long and respectable Swiss nautical tradition.
Now if this ain’t a red flag!
