Donald Trump’s new security plan openly supports Europe’s far right • FRANCE 24 English

The Trump administration published its new national security strategy Friday and it’s already been ruffling a few feathers, especially here in Europe. The document took aim at the European continent, calling the EU overregulated, lacking in self-confidence, and facing a civilizational eraser due to immigration. Reacting to the criticism, the EU’s foreign policy chief said Washington was still Europe’s main ally and that as allies, they should both stick together. For more on this, we can cross to Berlin and speak to our correspondent there, Nick Holtzsworth. Now, Nick, how has Germany and the EU more broadly been responding to the United States assessment of it in its security strategy documents? Well, as you’ve just mentioned, the the EU foreign policy chief Ka Kalas um was very diplomatic uh certainly reaffirming Europe’s commitment to remaining a security partner with America uh but at the same time uh also offering some kind of an olive branch saying that you know there were some valid criticisms in what was said in that 33page document. Um Germany was a little bit more forthright with the uh the German foreign minister um saying that um Germany didn’t need any advice on its internal affairs. Uh America was a partner on security matters in NATO and that’s as far as it went. The German constitution guarantees certain rights. Germany has its own policies on immigration and basically keep out of our business. this is our domestic business. Uh we don’t criticize your domestic uh uh business in America. Don’t criticize ours. So I mean the Germans taking a very firm stance here and that is also perhaps because this document also suggests that America will be supporting right-wing parties in Europe that oppose immigration. I mean, this whole idea of the replacement theory, uh, replacing a white population with a brown population, an Islamic population is a a far right-wing trope and Germany certainly does not take kindly to that. Now, um, as you mentioned, there was a slightly diplomatic response saying still allies, but honestly, will this strain ties between Europe and Washington? The truth of the matter is is that this has already been priced in since early this year when uh the American vice president JD Vance came and spoke to the Munich Security Conference here in Germany and basically uh astonished the audience by supporting the farright AFD and then uh had a a meeting with the head of the AFD and uh that’s the alternative for Deutsland, the far right-wing party here which is snapping at the heels of the CDU um getting in second place in the elections um earlier this year. So I think it’s been priced in. Uh we heard from Macron, although he later denied it, criticizing the Americans for criticizing Europe. Uh I think the Europeans are going to go forward knowing that America is not the ally it once was. Nick Holdlessworth, thank you for keeping us updated. That’s France 24’s Nick Holdlessworth in Berlin. move.

The Trump administration published Friday the new US National Security Strategy. The major strategy document denounced the European Union as anti-democratic and Europe as lacking in self-confidence, and said the goal of the US should be “to help Europe correct its current trajectory”. 1. The U.S. is now an anti-democratic, right-wing authoritarian oligarchy. The E.U. needs to free itself from the U.S.'s influence as soon as possible.

  2. Europe ! Especially The UK, France and Germany, be not deceived.

Trump' views you the same way and through the same contemptuous lens as he views, The Greater * MDV -New York City – Los Angeles areas.

The same prevailing liberalism, embraced multiculturalism and rejection of American supremacy ( in all that word encounters) are the sparks for all this recent strategy change.

You just need your political savvy political arson inspectors to pre-investigate his wildfire of rebukes that are about to hit Europe with every increasing intensity & frequency.

To repurposed a quote a passage from Shakespeare's Henry the 5th.

Elon ! Send our European friends this message:

" Europe being ours, we'll bend it to our awe, Or break it all to pieces"

  3. Trump admin will be over in one year! Midterms will definitely give the power to democrats. However the trust in USa is over

  4. President Trump is correct !
The current leader of EU are truly too weak, delusional, blind, and incompetent. Only far right partys are able to save/preserve Europe that we know and love.

  5. Interesting that the US paper completely ignores Africa which cedes the enormous CONTINENT over to CHINA . How does that help our national security? Even at the most cynical transactional level, Africa is packed with national resources.

  6. For New Year's Eve they had to cancel concerts in Paris because at the same time there is a soccer game with Algeria and they are afraid that the algerians will make trouble in the city, it doesn't matter if they win or lose they always make trouble!…
