  13. The jarring absence of obese folk made suspension of disbelief pretty difficult.

  15. I didn’t see solo cups or guys wearing an outfit comprised of cargo shorts, tank top, backwards hat and goatee. Otherwise they nailed it for the most part besides the pageant.

    Forgot the inner city violence as well except for the shooting victim.

    My credentials are that I’m from the wasteland known as the midwest.

    EDIT: This is more suburb meets trailer park than anything.

  21. One of my friends went there and the theme there was „trailer park boys but without the humor”. They were acting out AA therapy and stuff like that, from what I know it was quite serious and psychological

  24. Was part of a LARP in Italy that took place in the US (miners in Wyoming). Most of us were sporting some combination of flannell shirts, jeans, a bit of camo clothing, and of course plenty of baseball caps and US flags everywhere.

    When showing it to some US LARPer friends, they got (fake) outraged about cultural appropriation and sent us a picture of them dressed basically the same 🙂

  27. This is the absolute lamest thing I have ever heard of and I am willing to say it will always be the lamest thing I will ever hear of.

    You should be embarrassed, your children and every atom that is flung from your body should infect others with second-hand embarrassment.

  32. I could believe this was Oklahoma or Arkansas. Maybe Missouri or Kentucky. I saw the FB album, and the fashion is very Dust Bowl chic.

    One small suggestion for next time:

    Get two full dumpsters and empty them out all over the LARP site. That way you can increase accuracy for your experience.

    Oh, and have some people sleeping in tents in the middle of everything.
