  1. Ridiculous to begin with we’re going to help the public by cutting 91 thousand jobs thus putting those people out of work adding to unemployment. News flash find solutions that don’t involve sacrificing some poor member of the public to abject poverty.

  2. Pretty hard to effectively strike when you’re WFH in your holiday home.

    The civil service unions have been playing hardball over (not) going back to the office and this seems to be the govts own hardball response.

    EDIT some are unaware that the FDA Union of civil service leaders is currently demanding the right to work from holiday homes abroad.

  3. They won’t cut more than a few jobs, they will keep announcing similar numbers until natural attrition has come close.
    They announce something similar every few years.

    But even that’s terrible as most of the big ones are understaffed

  4. Simple : underfund the civil service, moan about them being shit, say they have to bring in private providers to fix it, give contracts to their mates. Done
