DENMARK, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Officials, development partners and community members gathered recently for the groundbreaking of the Tractor Supply store coming to Denmark.
Community leaders say it marks a transformative investment, bringing growth, job creation and renewed energy for the rural community.
The future Tractor Supply store will sit on an 8-acre tract at 18104 Heritage Highway.

Officials say 4.5 acres will be developed for the facility and the rest left undeveloped to preserve trees and maintain the natural landscape.
The Denmark location will feature 20,000 square feet of indoor retail space, plus an expansive 18,000-square-foot outdoor area for live goods, plants, straw, fencing and additional farm and home-improvement items.

Tractor Supply Co. Construction Manager Tom Mahoney shared the company’s enthusiasm for expanding into Denmark.
“This location will be roughly the 2,450th store across the nation, and we’re gearing up to hit 2,500 stores,” Mahoney said. “We are very excited about the growth, and we anticipate hiring roughly 30–35 employees for the Denmark store. And yes — we’ll be open seven days a week.”

Mahoney emphasized the company’s commitment to serving rural communities and supporting customers who rely on Tractor Supply for farming, livestock, gardening, home improvement and pet care needs.

Tom Friedlob of 3D Development expressed gratitude to the leadership teams whose determination brought the project to fruition.
“We want to thank the city of Denmark for working so hard to bring Tractor Supply to the area,” Friedlob said. “We also appreciate Bamberg County for its partnership in moving this project forward. We’re excited to be a part of this community.”
Mayor Harold Johnson welcomed Tractor Supply with enthusiasm: “This store will bring valuable resources, convenience, and opportunity to our residents — and the community could not be more thrilled.”
With shovels in hand and community support behind them, leaders celebrated the beginning of a new chapter with the groundbreaking last Tuesday.
