As a French person, I have to use the car to go to Antwerp. I have to register the number plate of my car on a website written in Dutch.

As a French, I don’t even have that information. It came to me through a compatriot who was fined 250 euros without any warning just because he didn’t register his car on the antwerp website.
And the same for Brussel and Gand, so what the point to have removed borders ?
Honestly, you better invest into trainstation and railroad if you want less cars in Europe.
So we removed borders in Europe to replace custom duties by myriads of local environmental rules ?
Be straight : let’s close the borders it will be easier and clever for everyone.
An angry frenchman

PS: I drive an electric car

Not an issue of borders at all, just the Low emmission zone being active
There are so many LEZ’s in all countries now that it’s really dumb to not look it up. Or do you think you can drive around in Germany without looking up what particular sticker you need to buy?
Further more it’s marked with signs. Do you think traffic code is the same everywhere? That has nothing to do with borders. Just look up the local laws that could affect you of all places you’ll visit One thing that is the same everywhere is the principle: ignorantia juris non excusat.
