Hello
I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Polish and Poland for a memorable trip over the last two weeks. There are a few photos in the link at the bottom.
I was originally really interested in living abroad in South Korea, and that’s still something I’d like to experience, but my friend who I met online through video games 10+ years ago kept going on and on about how great Poland is. He is 100% Polish American with deep ties to Poland. He had mentioned he wanted to possibly move there but didn’t want to do it alone. So I agreed to take a trip there for two weeks to see what it is like, he paid for my plane ticket (I will likely never pay him back lol). I am sure he will also comment on this post so I am just kidding.
Our trip started with two Polish friends meeting us the day we arrived and we went right out into the market square to see what all tourists want to see right away. We ate and had a drink or two before walking around a bit more. Our Polish friend had requested an American flag, he does re-enactments of some kind of American war battles, something I never even knew existed in other countries as a US Marine. Anyway, this Polish friend we call Fox decided to bring the American flag out with us that night and was wearing it around the area while walking, this was after we had been drinking and we took turns wearing it. We also had the Polish flag on as well. People smiled and laughed about it, it was a fun night.
Everyone I met was very kind, not one person that I can remember showed even the slightest bit of frustration that I couldn’t speak Polish, though it is now something that I want to learn even though I hear it is very hard. The area was beautiful, the classic architecture and churches everywhere is my kind of thing, the city sort of pulled me out of the house, I wanted to go see areas that weren’t just the market and explore and meet new people. The women, oh my goodness, the women, I swear I fell in love at least 5 times, especially the blonde bartender on my last night there…how I miss her lmao. I thought maybe Polish women just don’t like long hair and a beard, but I found out that Polish women are just more traditional than American women, something I really like actually IF that is true and they didn’t just dislike me lol.
Anyway, not to bore everyone, but the final verdict is that I loved it. The worst thing I had to worry about was what I’ve been told is a very rare pickpocket. Beautiful women EVERYWHERE, cheap food and drinks. I was unlucky and lucky enough to be rated by the VA here in the States from my time in the Marine Corps, which means I receive income from the government from my military service, this offers me a nice little cushion to survive if I moved abroad, and I am leaning heavily toward Poland. I also want to work and I have found that there are many jobs for English speakers, but of course, the most common would likely be to teach English.
Again, thanks for a wonderful trip and I can’t wait to come back. I am hoping in August for about 8 days, and then if all goes the way I hope it does for a month at least in March.

Link updated, wasn’t working at first. I am the one with long hair and beard as mentioned above. The most American looking one lol.

“cheap food and drinks” in Cracov… not for us, not for us. Next time don’t go to “Nowa Huta”. Unless you have machete.
*The American Polak friend he owes money to*
As always, Poland is just a very peaceful and relaxing place to be when coming from America.
I had the same experience going with my father. I expected Poland to be the Kentucky of Europe, and I thought everyone would be a religious fundamentalist, but going changed my perspective entirely, of not just America and Poland but America and Europe more broadly. I’m privileged enough to technically be a Polish citizen that needs to get it confirmed. I found out the Polish side of my family was actually my good side, and not my mother’s side like I originally wondered (haha). Poland is fucking great, especially Krakow. I met my cousin for the first time and we had a lot in common and are very close.
Dude, try the salty smoked cheese, Oscypek or Golka or Redykołka. Especially grilled and with cranberry sauce. Also try “Salted Karmel Krupnik.” Zubrowka is also a fine vodka. Visit a mall or Auchan sometimes and compare to what we have in America, it’s very interesting. Poland definitely has/does stuff better than America in many ways. I may move to Poland, in part for the women. I’m not a traditional guy, but I feel like American women have no love for men in general and instead love “things,” “status,” “money,” and above all these days far-left ideology. Women in America are attracted to the ideology that caused my father to flee Poland, and he still has the scar the communist officer gave him when being interrogated.
