The right thing to do or a bit alarmist?

  4. you know, it’s better to learn all of that *beforehand* – where to go, what to do etc

    it’s not alarmist when your neighbor is at war for 4 years now, and another neighbor is in alliance with the aggressor

    I was looking for a bomb-shelter map in Poland back in 2022

  9. I don’t mind it, however I think that if we are already making those kind of ads, then we also should start making… I dunno.. fucking bomb-shelters??? Fortunately there’s a 2 floor basement in our tenement so lucky me, yet It’s still just a basement without any backup plan, propably with shitty vents and if the exit will get blown up we’ll be fucked. So yeah, bomb shelters first and ads second, please

  12. This one is pretty good, but the rest of the “Poradnik bezpieczeństwa” is a lot of waffle/generic stuff.

    I wanted to know what to do in case of emergency so I checked it out. Turns out I learned nothing I didn’t know before, and the site totally missed some important facts (for instance the only place where it mentions the disabled and chronically ill is a “check on your neighbor” section. NOTHING on what those people should do themselves. (I am physically disabled, I have a chronically ill cousin in the same house, and no neighbors if you don’t count said cousin)

  14. As a Ukrainian I would say, that it is a sign for you to be prepared. No one will do it for you. You must learn how to pack your urgent backpack, how to give first aid, how to act while bomb shelling etc.

    Shelters? That’s a problem. We need more modern bomb shelters.

  18. They will do everything to not only keep this war going but also turn it into WW3. Sure Putin is dumb, but our government loves every opportunity to turn our country into a mess !

    It excuses every government failure and lack of funds for national projects, they will always say, “no money, due to war in Ukraine” before they did that with covid

  26. It’s just tragic that we had so many years to prepare and now we trying to rush it like nobody knew. We are going to argue and we are going to blame this or that government but we could do so much over last decade to be ready…

  27. I live in Warsaw.
    A few months ago, got an information about it. Then there were the drones.
    To my surprise, saw some adds on television on last days.
    I don’t believe in coincidences.
    First thing I did back in September/October, was to research shelters on the area I live. Then, during a running session, try to check some places, and at the same time, “build a safe route” on my mind.
    Shelter A, shelter B, shelter C.
    Bought backpacks – in these cases, called B.O.B. – Bag Out Bags, an emergency bag, and bought the items, like a lantern, documents, solar radio.
    Added some pieces of clothes for a few days, some water and food, medicines (if you need on daily basis, and for some injuries), and a few other things. You can search about it.
    The objective is to leave immediately in case of an attack, and go straight to the nearest shelter, with your BOB, **leaving everything else behind**: the main thing, is to save your life, and the lives of your family.
    If you can (yes, we can), **try to help others**.

    In case this shit happens, the mantra should be “We are all in this together”.

    I still hope nothing like this won’t be necessary.
    And in case some of you buy a nice backpack, some fancy solar radio, a goddamn awesome lantern, maybe you will use them on the on your next vacation thinking “now I am camping like a fucking champion”, while drinking a delicious cold beer…

    We can all still dream about good days ahead, right?
