    The two-time Oscar winner shared a post on Instagram on Monday expressing her shock and sorrow at the news of the murder of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

    “Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,“ Fonda wrote in the post. ”They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them night before last looking healthy and happy.“

    “I am reeling with grief. Stunned,” she added.

  7. It takes weeks or months for something like this to really hit their closest family and friends. I was able to get through my grandpas death without breaking down and tried to just be cool like he’d want. Like four months later seeing an old email e-card thing from him doing a search in my email.. just sucked it all hit at once and it’s the worst most panicked feeling where you feel so alone. He really left a void.. I didn’t realize how ill equipped I was.

    So I hope all of these family and friends are able to come together and remember the fun stuff and just physically be around each other.. it’s very helpful. My heart out to their other two children.. one found them. I can’t imagine that and won’t try.

  8. To people mocking her, not only is she in shock, but I imagine she’s also still grieving her very close friend Robert Redford. To not only lose friends but to lose them in such a horrific way must be soul destroying

    It’s minor compared to what ultimately happened to them, but imagining Rob and Michele stressed out and unable to enjoy time with their friends on their last night on earth is heartbreaking. I’m glad at least when Jane saw them that night, they seemed healthy and happy 💔

    Sudden deaths are SO jarring to deal with. You have no idea what’s coming. Exactly like she says, they’re happy, they’re healthy, they’re eating chips and dip and having a laugh and a chat and making plans and then they’re just gone.
    Yes, that’s obvious but it’s really hard to wrap your head around in the days and weeks afterwards.
