  1. This happened right in front of my eyes today. I parked at the very edge of a 3 car parking spot like this and someone came and parked in front of me in such a way that now no one else could park there. I think most people are just totally oblivious.

  2. People who complain about other peoples parking are pure simpletons. Unless you witnessed first hand how the “””wrongly””” parked car parked there in the first place, you’re an utter moron if you get riled up.

The car in the first example of a “badly” parked car could have very easily been parked behind a long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter/VW Crafter which was parked perfectly from marking to bumper and the car parked as close as possible.

Equally the car might have left the space behind because there was a motorcycle behind.

My aunt does this type of complaining. She also does 25 in a 40. I would take her license away and ban her from driving long before I would consider doing it for an inconsiderate parker.

You have no clue. Stop complaining; find a hobby. Parkingwatching isn’t a real one.

  3. Half the time you see this it’s just because of how other cars that are no longer parked were parked – it’s not worth getting heated about, really. Getting a bit bored of this constant core of people on UK reddit taking it upon themselves to become self-appointed social police.

  4. ~~Our roads are busier than ever before.~~

Our cars are longer than ever before. The self-inflicted misery we can only blame ourselves for.

  5. It’s even worse when they park in motorcycle bays.

Look I get it, parking can be hard to find, but can you just not?

It’s also busy because people’s flat our refusal to car share.

I get it though. But there’s too many cars on the road. On a positive, there’s a huge amount of car drivers who seem to look out for me as a biker. I thank you all.

  6. Near my parent’s house there is a section that is long enough for 2 cars with a bit of leeway to spare, albeit under a large tree. The number of times I have seen exactly in the middle of it, or in such a way as to ensure no one else can park there without blocking a driveway, is absolutely ridiculous. It’s usually the one section that’s most likely to have at least one space due to being under a tree, but I definitely recall enough occasions where there have been basically no other spaces nearby (it’s at the end of a cul-de-sac too, with my parent’s house being right in the back corner of the cul-de-sac) and then there’ll be one car parked in such a way as to block anyone parking in front or behind them. There was even a brief period where people would somewhat routinely double park there too!

I myself do usually park slightly back from the front dropped curb due to my parent’s neighbours routinely having a van and 2 cars on their driveway so they still have space to get out easily, but only in such a way as to ensure that people can still park behind me too.

  7. No. One is not inside the guide lines. The other has no guide lines.

  8. You are assuming that only cars use this space. There is space to the left of the car for a motorcycle or a couple of bikes. In fact, it is probably because a motorcycle was previously parked there that led to them parking their car this way in the first place.

  9. Or don’t take up space in public places with your personal possessions.

  10. This annoys me where I park for work, many bays are 2 car lengths but people park in the middle.

  11. WGAF? Over bright headlamps at head level in over large Ford pickups driven by small dick Englishmen are my bane.

  12. I thought this was common sense. But very true, the spaces are designed for a certain number of cars and often times people park so crap that lots of cars wont fit into bays

  13. Eh I disagree, usually with parallel parking you are dictated to by the other cars around you. If its a completely empty box then I agree absolutely but it is rarely like that.

  14. Oh and if you park like the car on the far right the traffic wombles will give you a ticket

  15. I’m sorry bud. I’ll pass it on at the next meeting.

  16. It would be helpful if councils put the sign posts level with the end of the box…the council here put them part way along so you have to get out of the car to check the wheels are inside the line

  17. I was sitting in a cafe and watched an older woman park a Smart car like this. I actually took a photo and posted it on the local Facebook page. People were coming back saying “perhaps there was someone parked in front of her.” No there wasn’t, I literally watched her park 6 feet back from the front of the line. No leaves or anything covering the lines either. BTW, I am an older woman and I would NEVER park like this.

  18. Why’s it just one long box and not a series of car sized boxes?

  19. Thank you for raising awareness about this important issue. You have truely done an important service to the community and we are all forever indepted to you 🙏🙏🙏
