The Diocese of Monterey has announced that Ramón Bejarano, appointed by Pope Leo XIV, will serve as its new bishop, with his service beginning early next year.Bejarano, born in Texas and raised in northern Mexico, moved to California at 18 and worked as a farmworker before joining the Diocese of Stockton to become a priest.
