In the night leading up to December 18 in the Odesa district, a massive drone attack by Russia occurred. According to local sources, eight people were injured, and in the town of Pivdenne there were serious damages to residential buildings, an educational facility, and about ten cars.

The consequences of the attack are evident in several high-rise buildings, private facilities, and residential neighborhoods. The morning cleanup began together with residents and utility workers.

Consequences and state of infrastructure

In the ruined nine-story building and other structures, windows were shattered, balconies damaged, and interior spaces damaged. The housing sector has been knocked out, and doors and walls testify to the scale of the destruction.

“Everything is smashed, broken. In the bathroom the doors fell out, and there was a mirror on them. In the room everything is ruined, all the windows are broken, the balcony is completely twisted. I don’t know how we will restore all this now”.

Another resident of the building, Larysa, told about the consequences: the war forced her to change her place of residence several times. During the attack she was at home and was injured: “During the attack I was on the sofa by the window. All my legs are cut by glass. I treated one wound with hydrogen peroxide and sealed it, there is still glass in some places on my legs – I will remove it later”.

Inside the premises, doors were also blown out: some twisted, some completely torn off. The wave touched the facade and the inner yard”.
