Zooey Deschanel Originally Lost ‘Elf’ Role Because ‘We Just Offered It to Katie Holmes’

2. I don’t see it. Zooey was perfect in that role.

3. She was replaceable in that role.

   She did okay, but others could have too. And her hairdo was pretty weird. Looks strange in that color with no other changes to her makeup.

4. Idk if it’s just me, but Katie Holmes just isn’t that good of an actress. Zooey Deschanel was great in elf though

5. I think she does well in the role because of her singing ability. Other than the singing, it could be any other female actress in the role. It’s not exactly a meaty role, you just have to be “the love interest”

17. As a connoisseur of dating crazy, I feel like Zooey Deschanel and Katie Holmes are two ends of a spectrum, and from experience you want to lean Zooey as hard as you can. 

    She’ll get drunk and cry and if you break up with her she’ll turn up outside your apartment and burn everything you left at her place. But the other crazy keeps her shit locked down and will just systematically dismantle your entire life if you wrong them in any way.
