I think Japan should apologise for the Rape or Nanjing, Unit 731 or at the very least try to lessen the discrimination of Gaijin inside of Japan. Crazy how many “No gaijin allowed inside” signs you still see at various establishments, yet they take the most dramatic fall after seeing racism online
This is all result of a very, very long tradition of racist stupidity in Finland. To be totally honest, this has been blown totally out of proportions. Partly by the girl herself. While the gesture was racist, I dont think the intent of it in this instance was aimed to be racist. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to joking about things with close friends that they do not really think and would not joke about in public (Dark humour etc.).
Now this time the normal filter got blurred and the joke leaked. She got rightly called out, apologized and that should have been that.
But the problem after was that she started immediatly acting like it was already in the past, giving the image of not showing any remorse.
That being said, I think media is still quite cruel towards a young girl. I dont think her intention was to offend anyone and this is kind of media coverage feels like its out of proportion.
Always saw basic fins as harmless idiots but now that they are harmful idiots, its so satisfying to see them get properly rekt.
We are collectively getting grilled, it is our government. We chose by elections, we are collectively getting out of hand. Extremes to oppose extremes.
I expect something to be done, you can’t have government officials being publicly racist on behalf of the country.
