  2. Your link is a clickbait.

    > Russian GRU General Andrey Averyanov On Board!

Source for that claim is Nevzorov and he stated that it’s not confirmed:

    > 🔥 There is information that, as a result of a sudden attack by unknown underwater drones in the Mediterranean Sea, a ship was hit, with about 10 Russian personnel affected: 7 wounded, 2 killed. Around 50 drones were used, a fire broke out and was extinguished, and the ship managed to sail to Cyprus under its own power. This information is preliminary and unconfirmed!

    > 🔥 Apparently, the strike on the ship was carried out by the Ukrainian Defense Forces using drones launched from a BEC, which left from a port in Greece and traveled 500 km underwater. (Information not confirmed by official sources!)
    >
    > If confirmed, this would be an unprecedented type of attack in terms of impact and effectiveness, comparable to the “Spider Web” operation. More details will follow.

    > 🔥 There is (unconfirmed) information that, in the Mediterranean Sea, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the tanker of Russia’s shadow fleet, Quendil. Preliminary information indicates that official Russian government personnel, as well as GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate) operatives responsible for drone espionage in Europe, sabotage, and sanction evasion, were on board. 7 were wounded and 2 eliminated (names and exact numbers to be clarified later).

    > According to preliminary (unconfirmed) data, General GRU Andrey Averyanov, along with several of his deputies, was allegedly killed on the ship. Averyanov was responsible for shadow deals, assassinations, bombings, espionage in EU countries, sabotage, etc. He was also behind the downing of Prigozhin’s plane, the poisoning of the Skripals, and other operations abroad on Putin’s orders. He traveled across the EU on “shadow fleet” vessels and is wanted in the Czech Republic.

    > Data are being clarified. If confirmed, this would be one of the most significant operations targeting an international criminal in the entire history of the war in Ukraine.

  3. I am a simple man, I see dead GRU generals, I upvote.

  4. This could backfire badly, an oil spill in the Mediterranean could hurt the economy. I hope it was not carrying oil. I found a news story saying it was empty, so that’s good.

  5. Interesting article:

The Qendil was one of several old Aframax (medium sized) tankers sold by Polembros Shipping and other western shipping companies, often above market price, to Asian buyers (mostly anonymous Chinese buyers). By the end of 2022, Chinese had bought around 200 tankers. The buyers bought tankers to profit off the business of shipping Russian oil on ghost fleet vessels. It’s name at the time of its sale was called the Kythira Warrior:

    >The Kythira Warrior is the oldest of the 12 aframax and suezmax crude carriers in the Polembros fleet.

    >The ship’s sale follows the pattern of several other Western tanker owners who benefit from high prices for such tonnage, sparked by intense interest from Asia-based players after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

It’s last known port was Sikka, India on December 1^(st).

  6. The ship was returning from India empty back to its home base, the only major oil spill is from the hair of all the Russians on board
