  1. Since his sister has apparently decided to forgo, I imagine James will follow suit. Not that he had anything approaching a “normal” upbringing, but he’d likely want to be more low-key going forward.

    I suspect he’s going to remain James, Earl of Wessex. Or is that James Mountbatten-Windsor, Earl of Wessex?

  4. James has literally been concealed from cameras by his parents in the past at Royal events. Nothing in this young man wants a more high profile life.

Unpopular opinion perhaps but I never really understood the choice of letting the kids decide to use their HRHs/titles because it lowkey puts them in a tough spot, and imo the same as essentially not giving them the titles. Imagine if they turn 18 and said yes 😭 They’d be mocked or be seen poorly if they choose to be called HRH, people are more forgiving if they perceive the titles and privileges to be “imposed” on them rather than a choice.

  6. I know it’s his right but it would kind of be kooky for anyone to choose to take it on as an adult. I think a lot of people would side eye it

  7. I’m guessing he’ll decline. He’s never seemed to like attention so it seems to me likely that he’ll just continue on as he has been and not change anything.

  10. Always liked Edward and Sophie. It doesn’t matter what James chooses unless he plans on being a senior working member of the royal family. When William becomes king only senior working members will have titles. William plans on purging the rest.

  12. Noted that he upgraded from Viscount to Earl, but his sister has not so far, taken an upgrade.
