  1. Halal done correctly is not inhumane.

    Stunning done poorly is inhumane.

It’s really not as simple as saying one is good and one is bad.

  2. All kinds of Ritual animal slaughter was banned in greece, Halal is officially illegal in greece

map is accurate as this was brought into effect last year

  3. Is this for slaughtering or does it also extend to purchasing meat slaughtered in that way? Wondering if Slovenian muslims just buy halal meat imported from other countries, for example.

  4. there is no humane way to kill an animal. but of course, the best method should be tried to decrease the pains animals feel. IMO stunning doesn’t make much difference.

The only way to prevent this is to become a vegetarian.

But, I’m open to other opinions…

  5. What does post-cut stunning mean, they stun the animal after starting to cut? That makes no sense.

  6. As a Balkan Muslim, it’s shameful to see so much Islamophobia in so-called progressive Europe subreddit

  7. Why the fuck is that even allowed in Europe? Why should we conform to some 7th century warlord’s thinking?

  8. Gotta love how many meat eaters disagree with kosher/halal slaughter

Guys… please watch any of the undercover footage from slaughterhouses across Europe, including footage of pigs screaming in gas chambers.

NO meat is ethical when you have the option to go without it.

The anger against ”ritual” slaughter has way more to do with racism/fear of otherness than welfare concern, or you guys would be vegetarians/vegans

  9. Ritual slaughter should only be permitted when animals follow Islam (or any other religion that requires a ritual slaughter)

  10. I don’t really understand what is the problem with halal slaughter. You do know our western industries skin rabbits alive, right? From this map, it seems that luckily just a few countries are actually Hypocrites and the majority of Europe is not. From the comments here though, it seems there still is a lot of work to do against Islamophobia.
