West Ham’s search for attacking reinforcements is beginning to intensify.

With Niclas Füllkrug edging closer to an exit amid talks with AC Milan, one forward is already on the way out.

Callum Wilson has chipped in when available, but his age and persistent injury issues mean he cannot be relied upon as a long-term solution.

As a result, the Hammers are casting the net wide ahead of January.

Several names have already been discussed internally — including Franculino Djú and Norwich’s Josh Sargent — and now another forward has been added to the shortlist.

West Ham have made an initial enquiry about Swansea City striker Žan Vipotnik as they explore more affordable attacking options for the January window.

According to GiveMeSport, the Slovenia international has emerged as a potential target at the budget-friendly end of West Ham’s plans.

Club officials are understood to have checked on his availability after being impressed by his early-season output.

Vipotnik, described as a “livewire” by former Swansea boss Alan Sheehan, has enjoyed a strong campaign so far.

Across all competitions this season, the 22-year-old has registered 10 goals and one assist in 23 appearances — a return that has not gone unnoticed.

West Ham are not alone in their interest. Two Serie A sides are believed to be further along in their pursuit, but the Hammers have now positioned themselves by making early contact as they assess whether a deal could be viable.

Vipotnik may not arrive as a headline signing, but he fits the profile of a smart depth addition — energetic, productive and still developing.

If West Ham succeed in moving Füllkrug on, the Slovenian could represent a sensible back-up option, allowing the club to focus bigger resources on securing a proven first-choice striker.
