Hello lovely people of Reddit, Tom here signing off for the year with a final Shoulder to Shoulder men's community update.

Last night we threw our Christmas party (thanks to Lucky Saint for giving us such an awesome venue), recognising some of the members who have made significant contributions to the group.

And honestly, the whole night was such a vibe – some incredible connections have been made within this community and it feels like we've created something really special. The sight of 20 tipsy men all marching to Bleeker Burger afterwards was just hilarious.

The mad thing is, none of us knew each other at the start of this year, we were literally strangers. And this Reddit community has played a huge role in changing that – so thank you deeply for anyone who's upvoted, commented or shared our posts.

We've got big plans for 2026, more meetups, more events, we've hired out a whole cinema in January to watch Heat, and were planning our first retreat in the Spring.

There are now 1,500 of us, which means guys across the city are able to schedule their own spontaneous meetups in their local areas, which is so great to see. There's one on Hampstead Heath on Dec 27 if anyone's stuck at a loose end over the Xmas break and feels like they want some connection with other guys.

If you're interested in joining us, you can find links to our website and IG below in the comments.

Have bloody great Christmas breaks, all!

  1. you sometimes come across the internet doing what it’s meant for – bringing people together for positive results. I wish your group every success

  2. Looks amazing and I will be looking at going to one of these soon aswell, christmas brings people together.

  3. Excited to see how you’ll grow in the new year. Terrific work.

  4. Awesome you guys are keeping it going, sometimes all it takes is an idea and a leap of faith to create a good thing 👌

  5. Oi, it’s the guy from Love is Blind! 😹 that’s cool

  6. I just feel compelled to offer:

The vibes coming off of this photo are so healthy. Every single man in this photo is smiling, their eyes are sparkling and a sense of peace is just washed over them. I know firsthand how important to my mental and emotional health making friends here in London has been. Human connection is everything, and the positive interactions we gain from it bleed into other aspects of our lives.

Keep it up and keep growing! This is so needed. ❤️ Happiest Christmas to all.

  7. How am i only learning this days before moving out of London!?! This is great, I would be down like Charlie Brown

  8. Such a meaningful night and what a group of guys! So excited to keep on building this space in 2026!

  9. I understand this is a mens group, respect that and love the idea. But could we have a mixed one perhaps as a way to start a womens one? Would love to attend and see how it’s run, talk for a bit. Perhaps then I could start the womens one 💚

  10. This is why one pays their internet bills! Wholesome ❤️

  11. Looks like such a great initiative and I hope it continues to grow and grow!

A forgotten benefit of feminism was always meant to be equality that goes both ways, rather than it being a zero sum game. That includes men having the option and space to enjoy supportive male communities and friendships without being judged for it, rather than always having to conform to locker room/pub/golf club norms.

Plus, those S2S values in a man are all highly attractive to us ladies!

Crack on guys! And thanks for posting!

  12. This has been my favorite thing on the internet these past few months

    Amazing work

  13. uh, Definitely! It’s all about those connections. Hope to see you at a meetup soon.

  14. Great going, man! If I were from London – saw your posts comin’ up every once in a while – then I would’ve joined too!

  15. What a gorgeous bunch of chaps! It’s nice to see such positivity and a recognising of values.

  16. I love this!

Long may it continue. Merry Christmas! 🎄

  17. What a happy, handsome bunch of chaps. Have a great Christmas

  18. Why do I always start counting everyone’s fingers? Crazy times..

  19. This and chive lord are the best things to come from the internet this year

Oh and Jake Paul’s broken jaw

  20. Im a therapist (often working with men) and I love to see this! The most common thing I hear men struggle with is lack of connection/community and difficulties finding/making friends (especially as we get older) I’m also certainly not immune to this!

Men creating space for other men is the way forward. We need to get out of this old societal pattern of relying on our partners for emotional regulation and grow into solid male role models.

  21. As a human who also happens to be a therapist : thank you, each of you. Well done. This sort of group is so needed & a glimmer amongst so much gray. It demonstrates pillars of well-being. It gives me hope! ✨ happy holidays! ⛄️

  22. I hope everything went well and nobody had anything stolen or was attacked, you never know.
