Poor Mrs. Sullivan. This is like a short film…but a very tragic one.
A lot of those buildings were burned by the owners at the time for the insurance I think I read somewhere.
They were being wrecked, couldn’t get rent,were of no value.

It’s easy to forget that much of New York was a crime ridden cesspool until the late 90s. The South Bronx was probably one of the worst areas back in the day
