1. Orbán is still a Nazi!! Which EU country would have Neo-Nazis march in a parade called “The Day of Honor”? What honor does Orbán have?

   During WW1 and WW2 Hungary consistently allied the losing power and continues to do so.

6. On a tour in Budapest years ago, our tour guide noted than Hungarian leaders are renowned for backing the wrong side in every major conflict.

8. I’m not a fan of this type of oversimplified comparisons tbh. They ignore too much context. Millions of Soviet citizens also deserted to the nazis because an unknown evil always seems better than the known evil you want revenge against. Hungary had every reason to oppose the Soviets. Nevermind the Soviets also semi-allied the nazis and were absolutely crucial to its war machine.

   This article also stupidly repeats Soviet propaganda by saying Hungary was “liberated” in 1945 rather than occupied by another totalitarian shithole.

   Very bad article imo. What the minister said is vague and fine. But the article is a disservice to him, them, and us.

   Maybe they should get historians to help out with articles like this.
