  1. My cockapoo went up be here. Parts were so steep I had to carry her.

  2. We being dogs into our lives, we have a duty of care.

Even if they’re not the brightest. Apparently it also works like that for children.

  3. I hope everyone did that voluntarily. Not something I’d find worth the effort.

  4. She looks like she might be an older lady and around half of St. Bernards will suffer from hip dysplasia. I’m more inclined to think that rather than her not wanting to move, she may have been unable to move and/or in serious discomfort or pain. I don’t like telling anyone how they should be doing things, but maybe Scafell Pike was an unwise choice for a place to take her?

  5. Scafell pike is a very treacherous scree slope.
Not ideal for a dog at all.

  6. I barely made it up there. Its very lose rock. Dont blame her at all it was horrible coming back down

  7. Depends on how you define “worth it”. As someone that personally likes dogs, I’d do it.

But also there’s a more pragmatic reason to it too. People have a tendency to like their dogs and if the dog does something silly, the people are likely to do something silly too. So we send people who have the proper training and the proper equipment to do it properly before some untrained doofus does it themselves and now we have to rescue a silly dog AND a silly person!

  8. The reason they are wearing masks in the photo is because it was at the height of covid in 2020.
I’ve worked with the Wasdale team on a training exercise and they are an amazing bunch of people; most are experienced climbers and a few are existing or retired doctors/consultants.

If you needed help in them there hills, you couldn’t wish for a better team to come and help you.

  9. What a waste of money. The owners should have had to pay for the rescue. humans are worth more than any animal.

  10. Hopefully the owner made a large donation to the emergency services. Absolute bellend for taking that dog up there.
