2. Honestly I get the novelty of involving Scarlett when Colin and her first got together but now that she’s always the target every year gets pretty tiring.

7. Maybe it is just me but I just don’t find this funny anymore. She is his wife, she is not on the cast and Che using this opportunity every time to roast Colin’s wife is not only getting old and boring I’m just starting to find it tasteless. The whole “hot flash thing” is also kinda a dig against all women. Che is so talented and it shouldn’t be hard for him to find something else to make fun of than a spouse of his colleague. I can’t help but wonder if he would find it funny if it was his spouse and mother of his children and Colin did this to him. There is so much ani-female in the united state and they even makes law against women and their right over their bodies so this is just not tasteful or being aware of the climate in the us.

8. Do you guys honestly think this joke wasn’t both Colin and Scarlet approved? The fake shock from Colin is all part of the shtick.

9. I like the people in here upset on Johansson’s behalf. These people don’t hate each other. They’re friends. She’s appeared in a bit on SNL where Che pretends to apologize – seemingly penned by Jost and possibly Johansson as well. She gets the joke. She’s in on it. I’m sure she finds it very funny to watch her husband slog through jokes about her.

12. I really think if they didn’t want him doing these jokes they would have told him point blank to stop it and he would have. No need to go all Will Smith on him, just say Michael, enough, and that would end it. I don’t think he would risk his job for these jokes.

13. Che and Jost have worked with this format long enough that they probably know each other’s hard lines. I’m sure there have been plenty “can I do [X]” convos between them because this format is only funny if they’re both in on the joke. It’s kinda like roasts. Roasts are funny when the person being roasted is in on it, it’s less funny when it’s just mean spirited.

    But also, no one has a gun to Jost’s head. If it crossed a line the only consequence of not saying it is a slightly awkward moment that professional comedians like them are capable of playing off to make it “ohhh we finally got one the other person wouldn’t say”.
