    During a speech in North Carolina on Friday, Trump digressed into demanding payment over the federal investigations into him.

    “I brought a lawsuit and I’m winning the lawsuit. There’s only one problem. I’m the one who has to settle it. In other words, I am suing, and I’m the one who’s supposed to settle it,” Trump claimed.

    He then added: “Maybe I’ll give myself $1 billion and give it all to charity,” then changed his mind. “Actually, maybe I shouldn’t give it to charity. Maybe I should keep the money.”

    He later stated, “I hereby give myself $1 billion.”

I may be making this up, but I seem to remember reading a cost projection of the ballroom being about 260 million and then the next day reading that he said the government owes him 260 million for investigating him. Then I recently saw that the ballroom cost projection could be a billion and I just joked to myself that the amount the government owes him would be going up. Is my memory fucked or do these numbers really keep coming out close together? And surely there is no way it is as directly connected as I joke about right?

  28. Here’s the thing… the justice dept was UNBELIEVABLY patient getting these docs back. They sent polite requests via his office for nearly a year which he blithely ignored. For what? Just to be a dick? Just to waste everyone’s time??

    Finally they sent in the feds to get back a bunch of documents crucial to national security. What did they find?? Stacks of boxes in bathrooms. Some boxes in publicly accessible places. Disgraceful.

    Now, he wants to claim a whole bunch of public money, our money, for being lazy, obstinate and uncooperative with documents that belong to the govt/public trust. It’s like demanding to be paid a few million for not doing your taxes.
