  14. There’s a good documentary on Netflix on Stallone (called I think “sly” or “Stallone”) I’d recommend that talks about his dad A bit.

    His dad was quite jealous of him for a while, even wrote a screenplay that was basically rocky but with a different name , the doc never really touched a great deal on his mom tho

  19. It is worth remembering that outside of his politics Stallone was living on the edge before rocky. Going from a literal zero to hero and having your parents skip out on what should have been one of the defining moments of his life must have been very difficult for him psychologically. It’s understandable he’s not cons to terms with that.

    Also, Rocky is an incredible movie and an American classic.

  24. You know what’s really wild? Stallone didn’t win any Oscars for Rocky, or any other film. It’s total Mandela Effect, to the point where apparently now even he believes he did.

    Nominated twice for Rocky and once for Creed. Zero wins.

  30. I have a theory that men whose mothers didn’t hug them enough end up becoming MAGA Republicans. Seems like Sylvester is part of that group. I still love Rocky though.

  40. Stallone has always leaned right. He has been consistent. But leaning right did not used to mean supporting an administration run by a rapist. It just meant bad economic policies and bad domestic agendas.
