The Greek Ambassador to Tirana, Konstandina Kamitsi, invited to the program “Interview” hosted by Mirela Milori on Euronews Albania, spoke about her three-year journey as ambassador to Albania. She emphasized that she personally requested to work in Albania and highlighted the country’s importance to Greece.

“I asked to come to Albania; I wasn’t told to. I requested it myself. Albania is a very important country for Greece and for the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is one of the most important embassies Greece has, and it is given very special importance.

That is precisely why it is a large embassy. We also have two Consulates General. It is a very important post for Greece. So someone not only has to ask to come, but also has to be selected. The Greek Prime Minister visited Albania four times during the three years that I have been here. Greece and Albania have family-like relations; sometimes there are arguments, but that is understandable in family relationships,” the ambassador said.
