Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš explained Saturday via a social media post why the Czech Republic did not guarantee a new EU loan for Ukraine, saying the country already supports Kyiv through annual contributions of CZK 60–62 billion to the European budget. The EU agreed on a joint loan to finance Ukraine, but the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia opted out. Babiš emphasized that peace negotiations and Ukraine’s security remain the top priorities.

Funds will support disadvantaged children with school supplies, tutoring, healthy meals, and activities, though some regions with high demand still face shortages.
