The 20th Andover Guides raised £1,180 at their annual Christmas Fair, with proceeds going towards their Girlguiding activities and a planned international trip to Switzerland in 2027.

The festive event welcomed families, friends, and members of the community for an evening of seasonal fun.

Visitors enjoyed a variety of stalls, games, and handmade items—many of which were planned and run by the Guides themselves.

Kelly Ryder, unit leader of the 20th Andover Guides, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and supported the Fair.

“The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see the Guides’ hard work recognised by the community.

“The funds raised will make a real difference to our 2027 trip and the opportunities it will offer our young members.”

A total of £624.50 was raised through individual stalls organised by the Guides, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit.

A further £555.50 was collected from unit-run stalls, which will contribute directly to the group’s general fundraising efforts.

The Guides also donated £50 to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice as a thank you to Andover Santa Cruises, who helped arrange a visit from Santa during the event.

The funds raised are a significant step toward the group’s aim of ensuring that every Guide has the opportunity to participate in the 2027 trip, regardless of financial circumstances.

The Guides expressed their gratitude to all volunteers, families, and supporters who contributed to the success of the fair.
