WANA (Dec 22) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army said the military is closely monitoring all enemy movements and will respond decisively to any hostile action during an inspection of army units in western Iran.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami, made the remarks during a field visit to assess the combat readiness and operational capabilities of units deployed along the western borders.
He said troop morale remains high and that equipment and facilities have been upgraded based on lessons learned from the recent 12-day war. Hatami also praised the initiative, creativity, and new innovations observed among army units in the region.

He said the army has mobilized all necessary resources to confront potential adversaries, stressing that training and exercises are conducted in line with military principles, particularly passive defense, to ensure realistic battlefield preparedness.
Referring to the interception of various small aerial targets as well as advanced Hermes and Heron drones by army air defense systems, Hatami said the first Heron drone used by the enemy during the 12-day conflict entered Iran from the western border and was immediately shot down. He warned that any aggression would be met with the same resolve.
Hatami said Iran continues to strengthen its ability to counter asymmetric and irregular threats, noting that territorial threats remain real. He stressed that the army’s core mission is safeguarding Iran’s territorial integrity and national independence, a responsibility all personnel are committed to fulfilling.

Highlighting manpower as a key pillar of military power, Hatami said protecting personnel is a top priority and that soldiers’ lives are invaluable, while emphasizing the army’s readiness for sacrifice if required and its determination to prevent harm to civilians.
He also underscored the strategic role of the Army Aviation (Havanirouz) units in the western region, noting their effective, intelligent performance in supporting ground forces and protecting personnel and equipment during the 12-day conflict.
During Hatami’s visit to the Kermanshah Army Aviation base, several overhauled helicopters were added to the operational fleet, while ground force armored units were equipped with anti-FPV drone protection systems.
