Zelensky to meet US negotiators in Berlin • FRANCE 24 English

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US negotiators are meeting in Berlin on December 15, after five hours of talks the day before. As the US grows increasingly pressed to end the four-year war, the peace negotiations continue, with territorial concessions to Russia remaining the potential, “sticky point” for Ukraine. Kyiv also seeks to obtain security guarantees from Europe and Washington, if needed, at the expense of dropping Ukraine’s bid to join NATO.

  1. Wats the point? US can be trusted just as little as Russia these days. There is a agreement. Budapest Memorandum. Did US live up to its part when Russia broke it?

  2. Ukrainians fought a war for joining NATO, and now there is no chance joining the so-called NATO, then what the war is for??? Ukrainians should have known the result, then why? The best result for the Ukrainians is joining the Russian Federation, then no debt for the civilians anymore! Go Ukrainians, to become the Russian Citizens and to save your generations for future.

  6. The current European leaders have made the same mistake as the European leaders and President Biden did then when they said that "only Ukraina can decide if they want to join NATO". That hypocritical mantra was more than likely the biggest cause for the war between Ukraine and Russia. And it has more than likely been the biggest reason for preventing a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

  7. 2026 will see the US Congress taken back by sane people who will limit Trump, and maybe kick him out of the presidency, and in the mean time Europe will help Ukraine beat the living hell out of Putin. Trump+Putin want to take the EU apart to better control it, but we're not falling for that.

  20. Today`s "big Ukraine news" is that President Zelensky offered to "drop the NATO bid against security guarantees for Ukraine", when in reality he "dropped" absolutely nothing. It would be impossible to get unanimity behind Ukraine`s NATO membership now. And it will be impossible for a very long time. So President Zelensky is in reality demanding security guarantees for Ukraine against nothing.

  32. Europe's obsession with destroying Russia is akin to Ahab and moby dick. It is interesting to see poor leadership, obsession with other country instead of your own and the slow moving train wreck EU is heading for.
