HMV is to open a second store in the Netherlands next year.

Spanning 4,500 square feet, the new shop on Kalverstraat in Amsterdam will offer customers a range of music, film, TV and literature products, as well as a selection of pop culture collectables.

The news follows the retailer’s successful launch in The Hague last month.

HMV said store will offer a deeper range of vinyl LPs and CDs than The Hague shop and will include a dedicated K-Pop area. There will also be a larger selection of films and collectors’ box sets on 4K and Blu-Ray, and double the range of t-shirts, collectables and books.

Phil Halliday, managing director at HMV and Fopp, said: “We’re constantly striving to create new community hubs for fans to come together and share their love of music and pop culture.

“The shop will cater to a range of interests, stocking all genres of music from K-Pop to Heavy Metal, the best film and TV shows around, as well as a great selection of fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels.

“We’re confident that we’ll bring something new to Kalverstraat and we can’t wait to open the doors next year.”

Acquired by Sunrise Records owner Doug Putman in 2019, HMV currently has over 120 stores around the UK,
