The Bangladesh Ethnosport team secured third place at the Togyzqumalaq and Mangala Asian Cup 2025, held in Ankara, Turkey, from December to 22, says a press release.
The medal was won by Bangladeshi player Md Rezaul Karim Molla, marking a commendable achievement for Bangladesh on the Asian ethnosports stage.
The tournament brought together elite ethnosport athletes from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Mongolia, and host nation Türkiye, alongside Bangladesh.
The wide participation and high level of competition underscored the tournament’s importance within the Asian ethnosports calendar.
The championship opened in a dignified atmosphere, attended by senior officials, including Levent Kılıç, Governor of Ankara’s Sincan District, and Murat Era, Mayor of Sincan Municipality. Their presence underscored Türkiye’s commitment to promoting ethnosports and strengthening international cultural ties through ethnosports.
The award ceremony was attended by several distinguished personalities from the global ethnosports community.
Among them were Levent Kılıç, governor of the Ankara’s Sincan District; Alican KILIÇ, director of the Sincan District National Education of Ankara; Muhammad Shahanoor Alam, counsellor and deputy chief of mission, Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara, Turkey; Zeynep Safiye Baki NALCIOĞLU, vice president of the Turkish Traditional Sports Federation; Md. Al Mamun, vice president of the World Togyzqumalaq Federation and president of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association and others.
The guests formally presented awards to the winning athletes.
Bangladesh was represented by a three-member delegation, led by Md Al Mamun, president of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association.
The delegation also included Salahuddin Chowdhury and medal winner Md Rezaul Karim Molla.
