The TRAN Committee visited Malta between 26-28 May 2025 to gain first-hand insight into the specific transport and connectivity challenges of this small, densely populated Member State, with particular attention to links between Malta and Gozo.
Discussions with authorities and stakeholders focused on the effective use of EU funding, alternative transport options, transparency in SAF supply chains and the management of tourism flows, highlighting the need for EU policymaking to take account of national specificities to avoid a one-size-fits-all approach in policy making.
