  1. France had been planning on having two carriers since the 1980s, they just couldn't afford it. Based on what I've seen and heard, they still can't. I'm not French, though. Anyone with insight?

  4. It needs to be able to launch and recover planes simultaneously and be able to operate US F-18E/F and F-35C aircraft the same way Rafale aircraft can operate from US Navy carriers. If it can do that, it would prove far more useful than the new UK Queen Elizabeth aircraft carriers.
