BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Christmas bonus for military members announced by President Donald Trump could provide an economic boost for Bay County.
President Trump announced the “Warrior Dividend” last week, a $1,776 bonus for military members. Given the large presence of military bases in Bay County, the Chamber of Commerce believes it could lead to an economic boost for the community.
“If they get opportunities from a financial standpoint that is going to benefit them, the likelihood that some of those, if not most of those dollars, will stay right here in Bay County is huge,” said Chamber President and CEO Al McCambry.
The Warrior Dividend that military members will receive is paid for through military funding included in the Big Beautiful Bill.
