Kind of absurd that the richer boroughs (ie nicer places to live) have the lowest rates..
Moving from my home town of Croydon to Bromley been the biggest upgrade of my life.
Brent above half way up despite being a shithole. The councillors misappropriate the funds for stupid crap while ignoring the endless fly tipping, littering, antisocial behaviour illegal parking and petty crime everywhere. Absolutely appalling.
That’s ridiculous for havering where you can’t even recycle your glass and there’s no green bin.
Council tax needs to be done away with
uh, That makes sense! It’s wild how location really affects funding and service quality in different boroughs.
What I don’t get is why I, as a renter, should have to pay council tax. Council tax is decided based on the valuation of the property, sounds like a landlords expense to me.
C’mon Wadsworth
How the fuck is Croydon second after Kingston?
good old Kingston council have been fucking me over for a while, and there’s roadworks constantly over the borough
Ah I was surprised I wasn’t at the top. Then I clicked the image. Bang! Twat council.
That’s a tough situation. It sounds lke they really need some serious funding reform to keep up with demand…
Harrow council, as corrupt and greedy as it gets.
Try living in Salford. My council tax for a 3 bed semi detached house is £2800. And it comes without all the amenities and support you get for living in London. Maybe if the government had decided to complete Hs2 to increase capacity on the WCML then i wouldn’t gripe. Yet we get fuck all and foot the bill.
*cries in Croydon*
We’ve recently bought in Gipsy Hill and looked at several properties in Crystal Palace where 4 boroughs meet. It’s crazy and such a stupid system where your yearly costs are so massively different depending on which road you live within a mile radius. We were warned against certain areas as they were in Croydon (now looking at this glad we were) but how is that sustainable and good for London?
Barking and Dagenham is full of rubish and litter!
I’m fucked. Renting a new build and band F in Hounslow. It’s already over £3k a year and there’s no projections yet for next year. I assume I’ll have to see my youngest child. Still don’t collect bins on time or fix broken pavements and street lights.
Some of these need zeros adding to the end.
Weeps in Croydon
And Richmond won’t even give me a black bin for my absurd amount of council tax
tbh, That’s a tough situation for Havering! Balancing growth with budget constraints is no easy feat for councils!
Look at all the pretty colours.
OP – your answers on the various boroughs are so interesting. Can I ask why Haringey is so high and Hackney so low?
