When appointing Dmitry Gora Prosecutor General of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko also recognised Andrei Shved, the current Chairman of the Supreme Court, for his substantial contributions to the diligent efforts of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The President particularly highlighted the investigation into the criminal case concerning the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, “We have already revealed numerous facts… However, ultimately, we must bring them to justice. Regardless of whether they pay, they need to be aware of their debt to us. It’s not only about the amount we calculated today in US Dollars, especially since the Dollar is quickly losing its value… They must realise that they destroyed the republic. Therefore, we need to conclude this and clearly expose all these Nazi crimes. This is particularly important today, considering the policies the West is pursuing, especially in European countries.”
