  1. We are now heading into 2nd (or later) generation interceptors. I am guessing something like this will be standard AD going forward. Ukraine pioneered it, but having distributed teams of crack drone interceptor pilots is not sustainable or reliable for western militaries.

    Turning dumb rocket projectiles into guided missiles was (and still is) prohibitively expensive. No problem when dealing with enemy bombers and expensive cruise missiles, where the economics between offense and defense are fairly even.

    But for long range drones the equation, as we all know, breaks. Can’t fire million dollar missiles at $60k drones. But they must be stopped, as they do far more damage than they cost. So turning to good enough munitions, with smaller firms picking up contracts such as this is a nice compromise.

    I have seen no confirmed pricing for these, and I am still not clear on distinction between Kreuger-100 and the Kreuger-100XR. If a winning formula is worked out once this and similar tech is battle tested, price would drop with mass production.
